Welcome to the Friends of Ware Priory

Here is the news . . .

Ros Standly

Some of you will have already heard this sad news - I am sorry to have to report that Ros died yesterday of a heart attack.

As you know, she was a former member of our committee representing the Priory Trustees.

She was also a past Town Mayor and a member of East Herts District Council.  She was very well known in the town and involved with several local organisations including Age Concern of which she was the current President.

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

Given the current situation with regard to the Coronavirus / Covid - 19, the Committee have taken the decision to cancel our AGM which was due to be held on Thursday 19th March.  We will continue to monitor the situation and will keep you informed should other planned events be affected.  We hope you agree that this is a sensible approach given the circumstances.  Keep well!

The Swift nesting boxes on Fletchers Lea are now closed for the Winter and will re-open in the Spring of 2020.  Unfortunately we didn't have any Swifts taking up residence this but we hope for better luck in the future.  We have, at least, provided some nesting facilities for future generations and with any luck we'll get a few occupants in the coming years.

If you do see any birds investigating the new nest boxes please do let me know by email to priorynet@gmail.com  Here's hoping!  Ron Baber.
